Cedric Jacquemyn is an Antwerp-based fashion designer whose work moves between tailoring, material research, and visual storytelling. After graduating from the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2010, he launched his eponymous menswear label during the FW11 Paris menswear week with The Last Glacier, a collection inspired by Icelandic landscapes and the vulnerability of nature. Since then, Jacquemyn has developed a distinct visual language defined by dark romanticism, sculptural silhouettes, and an uncompromising attention to craftsmanship.
Working primarily with natural fibres and artisanal techniques, his collections often explore the tension between fragility and strength, protection and exposure. Leather, copper, oxidised fabrics, hand-treated textiles, and custom-developed materials become part of garments that feel both raw and refined. Rather than following seasonal trends, Jacquemyn approaches fashion as an ongoing narrative shaped by historical references, environmental concerns, displacement, and the human condition.
A continuous artistic dialogue with photographer and visual artist Yves de Brabander has become central to the identity of the label. Through campaigns, films, installations, and image-making, their collaboration extends the collections into immersive visual worlds where fashion, photography, and art intersect.
Alongside his own label, Jacquemyn designed the line Hraun for the Swedish retailer Weekday from 2011 to 2014 and was nominated for the International Woolmark Prize in 2014.
His work has been exhibited at MoMu Fashion Museum and Bozar, among others, and since 2022 he has been active as a professor in fashion design at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, KASK Gent and WdKA Rotterdam.
